French actor Michel Blanc died on the night of Thursday October 3 to Friday October 4 following anaphylactic shock. In the columns of Paris Matchour colleagues returned to the moments which preceded his disappearance.
The allergic reaction would be linked to a contrast product
The events unfolded in just a few hours on Thursday October 3, reports the weekly. While he was scheduled to have a kidney X-ray in a medical center in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, Michel Blanc took a contrast product an hour before his appointment, at 1 p.m. It is this medication, used for certain medical imaging exams, which would have led to his downfall. A version however denied by the testimony of a medical source in Marianne, who claims that he had a reaction following an antibiotic taken in the morning.
He was transported to Saint Antoine hospital
The allergic reaction to the product began when he was in the taxi taking him to his appointment. He then began to have difficulty breathing and felt itching in his throat. That’s when anaphylactic shock occurred. The violent allergic reaction accompanied by angioedema took him straight to Saint-Antoine hospital where he was admitted to intensive care around 2 p.m.
A series of heart attacks
An hour later his condition is stable but his brain lacked oxygen for 45 minutes, his life prognosis is in jeopardy. What followed was a series of heart attacks that would lead him to his end. Around 8 p.m., when his heart gave out for the first time, his partner Ramatoulaye Diop allegedly sent a message to Michel’s old friend, Josiane Balasko, informing her of the situation. The latter would then have warned her friends at Splendid with this message: “Michel is leaving…“.
It was following a sixth cardiac arrest that the actor finally passed away, leaving behind the troupe of which he was an essential figure.
