La Tour d’Argent relocates to Vietnam

For a week, at the end of October, the legendary restaurant La Tour d’Argent will take over the kitchens of Le Beaulieu, the restaurant of the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi in Vietnam. Enough to promote French gastronomy to the other side of the world.

The Silver Tower flies to Hanoi

La Tour d’Argent puts down its knives and pans at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi in Vietnam (Accor group), in the Le Beaulieu restaurant. This restaurant recently joined the Michelin Selected list for 2024 and was recommended by Star Wine List for its wine list. The setting offers contemporary French cuisine, led by chef Charles Degrendele.

From October 23 to 27, the Executive Chef and Meilleur Ouvrier de Yannick Franques and the Catering Director Stéphane Trapier will therefore deliver a Silver Tour experience outside the walls of this one-star establishment four times a century old. Cutting duck with blood and flaming Mademoiselle crepes will be on the program for this culinary escapade in five sequences for lunch and eight stages for dinner. The two establishments will also honor Charlie Chaplin, who spent his honeymoon in 1956 at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, through the creation of a tribute dish.

Highlight French gastronomy internationally

The idea of ​​a week’s excursion to Vietnam was born from the mind of André Terrail, with the aim of faire travel the flavors and know-how of the iconic restaurant of the 5th district of the capital. The initiative also follows La Tour en Balade, initiated in 2022 during the renovation of the setting. La Tour d’Argent had thus carried out a tour of France in the heart of several properties belonging to major wine and spirits houses, such as the Crayères de Ruinart and the Château de la Marquetterie de Taittinger. A stopover in Japan was also proposed at the Silver Tower in Tokyo.

While the French government has launched a program to promote French haute cuisine internationally, La Tour d’Argent intends to once again promote French cuisine throughout the world and establish your reputation a little more. Through this project, the restaurant will also be able to attract a clientele who loves refined dishes who, during a trip to Paris, will be able to relive the experience directly on site.
