A Texas high school teacher was arrested Thursday after having sex with a minor student in a home under construction.
Jennifer Massey, 51, who teaches art at Davenport High School, was caught with a minor by police officers called to check a building under construction in Garden Ridge, according to the New York Post.
It was around 6 p.m. that police alerted by 911 calls discovered the teacher with her student in the unoccupied building, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office told local CBS affiliate KENS 5.
“The district learned last night that Mme Massey had been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student,” the school district wrote in a message to parents on Friday, specifying that the teacher “has been placed on administrative leave and she will not return.”
“The district does not tolerate inappropriate relationships between teachers and students. Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority,” the school district said in a statement, in which it said it was cooperating fully with law enforcement, according to the New York Post.
