New solidarity record for CAP48 with more than 8.6 million euros on the clock

The solidarity action organized each year by RTBF has once again succeeded in mobilizing the support of the population. Carried by a joyful band of public service leaders and galvanized by the enthusiasm of French singer Julien Doré, the godfather of the event, citizens did not hesitate to put their hands in their wallets.

Under the rallying cry “All together, hey”, this 67th edition of the operation took place in the wake of a particularly sporty summer. This time, it is not athletes, but some 10,000 volunteers and at least as many supportive citizens who have embarked on a “great marathon” to try to become “champions of inclusion”. They have therefore increased the number of support events in recent weeks in order to raise funds and boost the count for the benefit of the disability and youth aid sectors. A successful bet therefore since the sum of more than 8.6 million euros was reached on Sunday evening, a record.

Several artists, including Lara Fabian, Marc Lavoine, Slimane and Helena, performed to support the cause.

The amounts collected make it possible to finance projects which work towards better inclusion of people with disabilities in society.

Last year, the operation raised 8.2 million euros. An envelope which made it possible to finance 156 projects in the disability and youth assistance sectors.
