Craftsman, true artist, Alizé Lacord has made embroidery his profession.

Having become a “botanist embroiderer” as she likes to define herself, the 25-year-old young woman who lives in Guer (Morbihan) has developed a passion for a meticulous activity that gives free rein to her imagination.

She didn’t get into embroidery when she was little, but with an artisan mother, Alizé fell under the spell of market life, of creation, of the art world in general:

I took a literary baccalaureate with an art specialty. I was already into working with thread

Having become a bookseller in , Alizé took advantage of the confinement during Covid to buy some thread and a few beads, “just to keep myself a little busy.” My subsequent pregnancy also gave me a little time to get back to it more seriously,” recalls the young embroiderer who then created brooches and small jewelry.

Stumpwork specialist

Self-taught, Alizé, searches, tests, takes over and opens an Instagram account. The magic works quickly and she naturally specializes in nature and stumpwork, a technique of embroidery and relief.

Hydrangeas, dried flowers, pearls… Alizé modernizes slightly outdated patterns with the desire to dust off the genre : “There is a real audience. Bun picks are a hit, as are buttonholes for weddings. I offer trendy colors, pieces to hang for children’s rooms. »

And for those who would like to get started, Alizé also makes embroidery kits for amateurs: “Since Covid, we have felt this desire to do it ourselves. I wanted to share, to break away from classic beginner patterns. »

Allizé Lacord alias June The workshop exhibits and sells at the Cré’acteurs workshop, rue de la Gare in Ploërmel.
