Luzech. A medieval inspiration at the heart of the media library

The medieval spirit comes to the heart of the Luzech media library on Saturday October 12, where the Armand Viré Museum welcomes historians, authors and artists for a historical interlude from 3 p.m.

The historian Patrice Foissac, a specialist in the medieval era who has more than once fascinated his listeners around local history, will develop during an enriching conference what defines the towns, villages and bastides of medieval Quercy . Around a brief history which will take you from Antiquity to the end of the medieval period, you will discover in more detail the living environment of men, urban society as well as public and private spaces. At the end of this sharing, Patrice Foissac will dedicate some of these works recognized throughout the department.

The Middle Ages are also a source of inspiration for many artists, but also certain authors, such as the novelist Hélène Huillet, who will be present to sign her books. His novel “The Stone Man” and his latest opus “The Murmurs of Splendor” take place in the 14th century in the heart of Quercy, where fictional characters merge with famous men, kings, popes and templars, bringing us back to life historical situations.

This medieval inspiration will continue around an exhibition of paintings by Émilie Fournié, known as “the Lady with the Cane” at the Armand Viré museum.
