Donneville. Marijo and “Expoésie” – ladepeche.fr

The Donneville Media Library hosts the Expoésie, an exhibition of Marijo’s works, during the month of October.

For the first time, Marijo is exhibiting all of her creations in the village where she has lived for 25 years. By contemplating the diversity of her works thus brought together, she was able to achieve unity, the common thread that guides her work: the visual and verbal image. For the artist, “the plastic work is followed by the words. It is the image that makes the link.”

Photo, drawing and writing

The exhibition is made up of several parts: illustrations from the collection of poetry – “I am a fish who learned to walk” – paintings, photographs of natural elements accompanied by haikus, paintings-poems in which, sometimes, the word itself becomes image.

Thanks to the diversity of subjects covered and the media used, everyone can find an image or poem that they like.

Self-taught, Marijo explores several artistic fields: photography following in the footsteps of her portrait painter grandfather, drawing and writing. The one who likes the idea of “perpetuating the family artistic heritage” is also the author of children’s books.

Marijo is present on site during the media library’s openings to the public (Monday 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).

In connection with the exhibition, Marijo is hosting a poetry writing workshop on Saturday October 19 from 9 a.m. to noon which will be followed by the opening of the exhibition. (registration at [email protected])
