Artist Aziz Hattab is crowned at the Libya Film Festival

Moroccan artist Aziz Hattab won the best actor award at the first edition of the Libya International Short Film Festival, for his role in the film “Grey Days” directed by Abeer Fathouni.

The film “Gray Days” participated in the dramatic short film competition of the film festival, which concluded its activities yesterday evening, Friday, in Tripoli, with the announcement of the results of its three competitions (one competition was also reserved to short documentaries). , and another for animated short films).

In the drama film competition, the film “Sarakish” by Iranian director Yasser Ahmadi won the first prize, while the film “A Century and Six Years” by Egyptian director Mustafa Mohamed Nassef won the second prize, and the film “ A Bird That Came Out of the Window” by Libyan directors Malek Al-Zaytouni and Ado Amjad Abu Zuwaidah won third prize.

As for the documentary film competition, the film “The Bucket” by Yemeni director Adel Muhammad Al-Haimi was crowned best film, and the film “Magic of the Sands” by Omani director Walid Saad Al-Kharouji won second prize. . while the third prize went to the film “Under” by Iraqi director Ahmed Al-Taher.

Works from many countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, the Sultanate of Oman, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain, Jordan, Belgium, Italy, Iran, Spain and Great Britain.

The jury for the festival, organized by the Libyan Cinema, Theater and Arts Authority, was chaired by Libyan director Abdullah Al-Zarrouk and included a number of Libyan creators, including actor Ali Ahmed Salem, who starred the role of Bilal in the film “The Message” by the late director Mustafa Al-Akkad.

This session stood out for highlighting Libyan cinema, and also saw the organization of seminars on various topics, including “Facts about cinemas in Libya during the year of independence in 1951”.
