2 Stroke – The essence of Alpenbrevet

The Red Bull Alpenbrevet is an ode to two-stroke engines, these small machines which symbolize both nostalgia and freedom for their fans. An entire community comes together every year around these mopeds, which we affectionately call “buguets”.

The event celebrates not only the mechanics, but also the unique culture that surrounds these machines. Participants come with restored, customized and sometimes even extravagant models, ready to tackle mountain passes, while connecting with other enthusiasts.

1400 participants – A community united by passion

For this 14th edition, 1400 enthusiasts from all over Switzerland and beyond met at the foot of Harder Kulm, in the famous JungfrauPark in Interlaken. The gleaming “Hödi” (buguet in Swiss German) paraded in front of an enthusiastic audience admiring the more or less old mechanics.

We particularly enjoy riding with this community and the area is very beautiful. We will come back!

From the “Café Racer” to the “Chopper”, each participant made a point of personalizing their motor bike, contributing to a show full of color and diversity. These are enthusiasts of all ages and from all backgrounds who, for a day, become the heroes of an alpine outing.

146 kilometers – An epic journey

The course is simply breathtaking. Participants cross the most beautiful roads in the Bernese Oberland on 146 kilometerswith breathtaking landscapes. After starting from the JungfrauPark in Interlaken, the moped riders rode along Lake Thun, before taking advantage of a refreshment break.

The adventure continued towards Lake Brienz, with a demanding passage past the Aare gorges. Then, the climb towards the Winterlücke, 1395 meters of altitude, offered participants the opportunity to take on a physical as well as a mechanical challenge. The descent to Hasliberg then allowed everyone to savor the panoramic views before returning to the starting point.

3 winners – Gang of the Year, Buggy of the Year and Best Average Time.

The competitive spirit of the Red Bull Alpenbrevet is not based on speed. Several prizes reward participants for their creativity and style.

This year, the title of “Gang of the Year” was attributed to the “ 2-Stroke Mafia », an Aargau team who knew how to conquer the hearts of the public thanks to their boundless enthusiasm. The Gang formed in 2013 has never missed a participation in the Red Bull Alpenbrevet since its creation.

The day didn’t end here

The event continued after crossing the Alps where visitors will meet, among others, well-known faces such as the stand-up comedian Fabio Landert on the party website.

The awards ceremony was hosted by the artist Enrico Lenzin, who ignited the audience with his famous Alphorn Disco. Then, the festivities continued with the After Ride Party where the Tom Lee cover band followed by DJ Biko. A perfect way to end this edition of the Red Bull Alpenbrevet.
