The 13th edition of the Meeting of Andalusian music lovers from October 10 to 13

The 13th edition of the Meeting of Andalusian Music Lovers is scheduled for October 10 to 13 in Tangier, at the initiative of the Nassaim Al Andalouss Foundation for the preservation of heritage.

Organized under the theme “From source to culmination… Preserved artistic treasures”, this edition promises a diversified program over 4 days, with Spanish and Portuguese flamenco and fado troupes as guests of honor, indicates a press release from the organizers , adding that the meeting aims to strengthen cultural ties between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

The planned shows will take the public on a journey “from the calm of Moroccan Andalusian art with its tones, its literature and its reflections, to the rhythm of Spanish flamenco full of vitality and life, passing through Portuguese fado full of emotions”, adds the same source.

This festival will also be marked by the creation of the “Dar Al Ala Prize” for the first time, a competition between young orchestras from regional conservatories, which will take place on the first day of the meeting at the Palace of Culture and Arts of Tangier and will be supervised by teachers specialized in Andalusian music.

This initiative “aims to perpetuate the artistic exchange between generations, the old masters and emblematic figures thanks to whom this heritage is preserved, as well as young people wishing to in turn transmit the musical heritage to future generations,” continues the press release. .

This edition will also honor the composer Nabil Akbib, who will pay tribute to the dean of Andalusian music, Ahmed Oukili, during a performance, as well as Dr. Amine Chaachou, recognized for his contributions to literature and music. ‘history.
