Open vats: 4th tour of independent brewers in the canton

From October 4 to 12, 2024, Geneva invites the population to “Cultivate democracy” as part of the 10th edition of its traditional week celebrating popular sovereignty.

A rich and varied program, intended for all audiences, is offered by the numerous public and private entities brought together for the occasion around this theme.

With more than forty partners and almost as many events, thirty-two of which are open to the public, Democracy Week 2024 promises to be an unmissable event for anyone interested in civil rights.

Saturday October 5, 2024: Raising awareness of deliberation in Citizens’ Assembly

As part of the opening of the deliberative tables of the Thônex Residents’ Council, practical training concerning deliberation will be delivered to participants as well as to the general public, primarily from the municipalities in question. From Saturday October 5 to Sunday October 13, 2024: Interactive exhibition: Cultivating democracy with Artificial Intelligence

What are the impacts of AI on democracy? Should we be afraid of it or, on the contrary, is it an ally, a tool to continue building – or rebuilding – our democratic processes? What political, technological and social futures can it generate? This interactive exhibition, offered at the heart of Geneva’s democratic institutions – the City Hall – will allow you to discover the perspective of Swiss youth on these essential questions.

Monday October 7, 2024: “Fitness-Democracy” public training session

Fitness-Democracy is a series of training programs developed in Denmark to strengthen certain muscles necessary for living well in a democratic society, such as courage and disagreement. Little theory and a lot of practice: these programs train us, in an original way, to participate together and thus strengthen democracy! The workshop is open to anyone interested from 14 years old.
