Essaim, the club that revives the Concrete spirit in the capital, will open in October

Founded by the former team of the Parisian club Concrete, which had to close its doors in 2019, Essaim is preparing to take up the torch of sweaty and intoxicating nights.

In July 2019, the Concrete club closed its doors, signaling the end of the long electro nights (and days) that took place there. This party space in the 12th arrondissement of was created in 2011, in order to meet the objective of familiarizing the public with DJs plus house, techno et minimal, plus underground”, told Brice Coudert – his former artistic director – to the Inrockswhen the club closed.

Five years later, alongside Jonathan Malisé – the former technical and production director of the place –, David Bossan and Tommy Gin, he is preparing to offer a sequel to Concrete with Essaim. An address which, like its predecessor, intends to carry high the colors of an effervescent electro (and modern) scene. The musical programming will thus be managed by Brice Coudert himself and Antoine Hernandez, already co-programmer of the Positive Education festival.

At Essaim, dancers and DJs on an equal footing

Like the previous club, Essaim will place the public at the center: a dancefloor designed by architect Dorothée Hachiken, putting dancers and DJs on the same footing, a bar with less outrageous prices than those of most Parisian places, a limited capacity to avoid feeling cramped… So many promises which can be verified as soon as it opens, on October 31.

The idea is to make the new HQ of a scene with keen musical tastes and a purist and curious public”, we read in a press release, while assuring the public respect for everyone, without compromising on comfort, safety or collective well-being”. And this, in the center of Paris, between Gare du and Gare de l’Est. One thing is certain: we will be part of the party.
