This October 2, 2024, Eddy Mitchell and his TV film, entitled An ideal fatheron France 2, was a hit with audiences. It came in well ahead, with 4.10 million viewers, or 21.9% of the public.
The singer and actor beat TF1, which came in second place thanks to Good Doctor. with 2.58 million viewers, or 13.5% of the public. And it also largely outperformed M6 and its “Golden Bachelor”. He only comes in seventh position. And it is for these audiences at half mast that the end of the season was rushed.

For Eddy Mitchell, it’s confirmation that the star has a knack when it comes to finding a role. To our colleagues from Télé 7 jours, he recently confided, concerning “An ideal father” : “Initially, for this TV film, the director, Hélène Fillières, offered me a guest role: a secondary role, that of the stud farm boss. It didn’t interest me.”
And to ensure: “It seemed hollow to me. On the other hand, when I read the script, I found that the role of this atypical priest would suit me well.” We have to believe that Eddy Mitchell was not mistaken.
Johnny Hallyday’s best friend could even do it again soon, if we are to believe his statements to the weekly. He believes in fact: “I must say that television today offers more interesting things than cinema. Current cinema bores me.”
A talented actor and singer
