THE MORNING LIST
This week, we present several events in rock, jazz, song and various music. Thus the group The House of Love for a short tour, in Paris the 40th anniversary of the jazz fusion group Sixun and a tribute to guitarist Christian Escoudé, as well as three festivals, one in Rennes and in several communes of Ille- et-Vilaine, another in Vannes and the third in Marseille.
British rock band The House of Love on tour
In 2023, the British rock group The House of Love finally performed again in France for a memorable reunion after eighteen years of absence. With its pioneering shoegaze guitars and deeply melancholy melodies, the rock outfit of the phlegmatic singer-guitarist Guy Chadwick was one of the most prominent in the late 1980s, alongside the Pixies and the Stone Roses. Since then, the house of love has undergone some renovations, with a staff completely overhauled since the album A State of Grace (2022), but its irreplaceable leader Guy Chadwick still holds the house.
Having already visited Amiens and Marseille in September, The House of Love returns to France for four dates from 1is to October 4, in Toulouse, Clermont-Ferrand, Rennes and Paris. The tour focuses on the period 1990-1993 with the albums released on the Fontana Records label, recently reissued on vinyl. The opportunity to dive back into the album called “Papillon” (1990) and the classics that are Shine On, The Beatles and the Stones, Feel, Girl With the Loneliest Eyes, I Don’t Why I Love You… Ms. C.

Everyone (or almost) can find something to suit their personal tastes. Headliners, some of whom present their new album (Danakil, Zoufris Maracas, Ayo, Seun Kuti). Three evenings of partying, intense groove (and decibels), plus an “after” on Saturday for those who don’t want to go to sleep, then a Sunday for families (with Angélique Kidjo surrounded by kids – creation for “La Cité des Minots”).
