TV SERIES – Prepare your tissues. Almost unanimously hailed as a successful and landmark video game adaptation in 2023, the series The Last of Us had brought an unexpected breath of fresh air. And promises to do the same with its second season, the first images of which were revealed by the Max platform this Thursday, September 26.
Although we will have to wait a few more months to discover the series on our screens, HBO has pulled out all the stops by presenting this long trailer introducing all the issues and new characters of this highly anticipated new season for 2025.
As you can see in these first images available in the video at the top of the articleJoel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) unsurprisingly make their return, accompanied by a slew of new faces, including that of actress Catherine O’Hara or that of Kaitlyn Dever in the role of Abby. A key character who will forge important bonds with Ellie in season 2.
Jeffrey Wright, a newcomer to the cast of this second season, will be easily recognized by fans and players of the video game in these images, since he already voiced the character of Isaac, leader of the Washington Liberation Front in the game The Last of Us Part II. It is therefore quite natural that he will reprise his role for the TV series adaptation.

For those who discover The Last of Us with the HBO series, Max indicates that this season 2 will take place five years after the end of the previous season. Caught up in their past, the two heroes will have to face a world more perilous and unpredictable than the one they thought they had left behind.
After covering the first opus of the video game with season 1, season 2 should only adapt part of the second and final game, longer but also much more tragic as this trailer suggests.
