Gaillac. Expo: Robert Blanc in all its colors at the Pôle culture

Robert Blanc exhibits at the Pôle culture et attractiveivité, a few hundred meters from his personal gallery. But at the Pôle, if everything is to be seen, nothing is for sale. The painter presents a sort of retrospective where we find the watercolorist period – that of bouquets, of markets where the leaves free themselves to take on multi-colored tones – and the recent period when Blanc turns to acrylic, adopts more lively movements, a reflex painting where thick impastos, grid prints, granules or small ovoid pebbles take place that insert themselves into the heart of the canvas. Blanc gains in density, in diversity, in power also when his bouquets explode with red in a fire that gains yellow. Flows, stains, streaks: he uses the whole arsenal of a gestural painting light years away from the quiet watercolors that invited a meditation on landscapes and scenes of yesteryear. Blanc’s conversion to an idea of modernity changes register: it’s time for punch, even uppercut, but always with color as a guide in this maelstrom of movements. The exhibition lasts until September 30, with free access during the opening hours of the Pôle Culture et Attractivité, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
