The Night of the Gavotte and its fest-noz return for a 34th edition in Finistère

The event that celebrates Breton dance, language and culture every year will kick off on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Poullaouen (Finistère), with a movie night. Four days of entertainment, festivities and dancing are on the program.

The Night of the Gavotte is back in Poullaouen (Finistère) from Thursday September 19, 2024 in the evening and will be held until Sunday 22 for a 34e edition. The event, which celebrates Breton dances, language and more broadly Breton culture, begins with a film evening, with the screening of an archive document on the kan ha diskan in Poullaouen, followed by the screening of a film on Marcel Guilloux, a master in the field, who died in June 2024.

Also on the agenda for the Nuit de la gavotte: a conference on the evolution of the Breton language on Saturday; activities, courses and an intergenerational ball on Sunday. The highlight of the four days will be the fest-noz on Saturday, starting at 8:30 p.m., an evening of dancing to the rhythm of around twenty groups that will follow one another.
