The relentless groove of the young septet Huit Edmi

Created in 2019, the training of Raphaël Faigenbaum, passionate about cinema, is a nod to the film Eight and a Half directed by Federico Fellini with Marcello Mastroianni and Anouk Aimée. But Huit Edmi also means that the group is open and can still welcome other members. The group explores a wide range of influences, European, North American, African, Caribbean … with a common denominator, the groove:

To play his music, Raphaël Faigenbaum brought together Pierre Carbonneaux on soprano/tenor/baritone saxophone, Dimitri Shlelein on alto saxophone, Thomas Gaucher on guitar, Guillaume Ruelland on bass, Emilian Ducret on percussion and Milan Tabak on drums. We also note the participation of bassist Gaël Perina invited on three pieces. From the score to the improvisation, the attention is directed towards the construction of an intense collective sound, sometimes energetic, sometimes lyrical. It is the independent and passionate label Jazz Family that carries their album released on August 23.
