The actor unveils the trailer for his new film after the success of Large bath. An “ultra-violent musical romantic comedy” with Adèle Exarchopoulos and François Civil.

It will be one of the events of the fall. Gilles Lellouche released on October 16th Love phewhis new film as director after the success of Big Bath in 2018. A new trailer was unveiled this Tuesday.

Adapted from a novel by Irishman Neville Thompson, this “ultra-violent musical romantic comedy” brings together in particular Adele ExarchopoulosFrançois Civil, Raphaël Quenard, Alain ChabatElodie Bouchez, Benoît Poelvoorde and Jean-Pascal Zadi.

The story takes place over several decades in the north of France. Jackie is a high school student, Clotaire hangs out with thugs. When the two teenagers meet, it’s love at first sight.

In competition at Cannes

But soon a gang leader takes Clotaire under his wing. When a robbery goes wrong, Clotaire is sentenced to ten years in prison. When he is released, Jackie has rebuilt his life. He tries to find her while seeking revenge on those who betrayed him.

Love phew is one of the most ambitious French films of the year, with a budget of nearly 36 million euros. The soundtrack gives pride of place to hits from the 1980s and 1990s, from The Cure to Sting, Jay Z and Prince.

Love phew has been screened in official competition last May at the Cannes Film Festival. This is the second film directed solo by Gilles Lellouche after The Big Bath (4.2 million admissions). The actor also co-signed Narco (2004) et The Infidels (2012).
