That’s it, the new mechanics of “Koh-Lanta: the cursed tribe” really started in the second episode of the season, broadcast this Tuesday, August 27 on TF 1. The four unfortunate survivors sent to a hostile camp received a message giving them hope: they would have the possibility of escaping from their island.
To do this, Mélissa, Vanessa, Ilyesse and Nathanaël went to a riverbed. They had to find a white anito, a small figurine from Filipino culture. After more than an hour of searching, it was Ilyesse, the engineering student from Seine-Saint-Denis, who finally found the key.
Meanwhile, the red and yellow teams, led by their captains Ugo and Frédéric, competed in a comfort test called “the big fire”. It was an obstacle course in which they had to carry an 80 kg canoe, before handling a pole to set a cauldron alight. The competition was tight, but Ugo’s Pitogo led by a narrow margin throughout and came out on top. A second victory in a row for the reds, which allowed them to win the fishing kit (harpoon gun, net, hooks, fins, masks, snorkels, etc.).
Winners and losers alike were then stunned to learn from Denis Brogniart about the existence of the cursed tribe and to see Ilyesse arrive, who painted them a very dark picture: “Everything is black, everything is gloomy, there is nothing for us.” From now on, after each comfort game, a member of the losing tribe will face a duel with the adventurer who found the white anito on the cursed island. The winner will join the team in question, with the bonus of an individual immunity necklace valid until reunification. The loser will join the cursed tribe.
Each member of the yellow team then had to write a first name on a slate, and Emmanuelle was chosen to face Ilyesse. In a balancing act, contested after the other adventurers had left, it was the latter who stood out, to his great delight.
“Too exuberant, too much in the middle of the stage”
While waiting to know this outcome, Frédéric began to worry about the yellow camp: “The cursed tribe is a huge parameter that can alter my personal adventure. I think it’s time to consolidate alliances.” With Lola, who told him: “I have the impression that apart from us, no one is thinking about strategy,” they summoned Jacques, Charlotte and Sophia. All five promised not to vote against each other during the next elimination councils.
While Ilyesse’s arrival went well with the Sabitangs, Emmanuelle quickly became disillusioned with the cursed: “My first impression: it’s gloomy, it doesn’t make you want to go there at all.” Especially since the tone rose between Mélissa and Vanessa, the former finding the latter too directive.
In an extremely competitive immunity challenge once again, the yellows obtained their first victory. Lola was pleased to see the wheel turn with a tone that could annoy her opponents. In particular Alexandre, who admitted to Denis Brogniart once the Sabitangs had left: “I would have liked to be on the yellow team to be able to take out one that already gets on my nerves”, confirming that it was Lola, whom he finds “too exuberant, too much in the middle of the stage”.
In her own ranks, the young woman from Martinique is not unanimous. Her teammate Fabrice did not mince his words in front of the camera: “Lola, she needs to exist constantly. There is not a moment of the day when she does not put herself forward to shine. Lola, if she does not shine, I have the impression that she dies in fact!”
Before adding another layer the next day, reproaching her for not bringing anything to the camp: “Lola, she is as useful as the H in Hawaii”, a statement referring to a line from Brice de Nice, the film character played by Jean Dujardin. And continuing: “The only thing she does is that she collects the esteem of others by exposing herself and talking a lot.” Jacques also admits to having “a lot of difficulties” with Lola.
The 25-year-old woman was not in danger, however, since it was the reds who went to the council. While Ugo and Gustin launched a male alliance targeting Marie, the strategist Alexandre let them down and sided with the women to eliminate Ari. The oldest member of the adventure, 51, left, thinking that his tribe would regret it later.
