Young people in school are often advised to plan for the future based on their desires. And not by choosing the “effective” sector of the moment. But it’s not given to everyone. This observation is nothing new, but the view of filmmaker Hélène Milano (Black Roses2012 ; The burning coals2019) changes everything: in Château-Rougenamed after the Goutte-d’Or district, in Paris, in the 18th arrondissement, where the Georges-Clémenceau college is located, the director returns to us with her portraits of students in 3rd grade. In this district in the north of the capital, which mixes populations of foreign origin, some students have difficult journeys, such as this young girl who wants to see a psychologist, “on condition” that his mother doesn’t know.
