The Tunis Opera Theater, located at the Cité de la Culture, was the scene on Saturday evening of the opening of the 10th Carthage Musical Days (JMC). This cultural event takes place under the direction of singer Dorsaf Hamdani and takes place from January 18 to 24, 2025.
The opening ceremony was marked by the presence of the Italian group “Ars Nova Napoli”, a sextet of street musicians, accompanied by the Spanish singer La Jose. Among the highlights of these days, six prominent concerts are planned, featuring artists such as the group “Tarabband” (from Iraq, Egypt and Sweden), Si Lemhaf (Tunisia), and the Jordanian group “Autostrad”.
The festivities program also includes artists like Elida Almeida from Cape Verde, and Big Sam, Palestinian rapper and composer, without forgetting the group “Chakam” composed of members from Palestine, Iran and France. According to our colleagues from Anadolu, lively street shows are also planned on Avenue Habib Bourguiba in Tunis.
-Apart from concerts, the JMC offers 18 showcase-type performances as well as masterclasses and workshops intended for professionals and the general public. In accordance with information shared by Anadolu, the Carthage Musical Days are orchestrated by the National Establishment for the Promotion of Festivals and Cultural and Artistic Events, under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Tunisia.
Since 2021, the festival has been organized without competition, thus providing a platform for free expression and discovery for participating artists.
