For the French, especially those in the south of the country, the Marie Blachère chain of bakeries is part of the landscape. Indeed, the brand was born in September 2004 with the opening of the first bakery in Salon de Provence, in Bouches-du-Rhône.
The following year, the brand’s famous baguette saw the light of day… as well as the 3+1 free offer. The brand even calls itself a “pioneer” in the creation of this permanent offer. In 2008, MarieBlachère signed a first partnership with Grand Frais in Claye Souilly, in Seine-et-Marne.
Around 800 stores in France
After France, the Bouches-du-Rhône bakery is setting up outside France with a first store in Belgium in Messancy, the year of the 10th anniversary of the creation.
The Blachère groupbased in Châteaurenard (Bouches-du-Rhône) near Avignon (Vaucluse), founded in 1985 by Bernard Blachère, continues to grow with around 800 stores in France.
-The brand continues its international development, notably with three bakeries in the United States: two in New York and one in Miamiopen in 2023. But also one in Luxembourg, opened in March 2020 in Contern or in Lisbon, Portugal, in September 2021.
A croissant for $2.95 in Miami
Recently, an influencer from Tarn, Laurène, known as Frenchylo on social networks, discovered the bakery in Miami, where she now lives. Several videos on Tiktok or Instagram are shared by Laurène, surprised by this find. A king cake, a baguette, an apple turnover and a croissant pour 18 dollars (17.57 euros), the young woman was happy to find a little bit of France across the Atlantic. She still notes that the price of the croissant ($2.95 each) is not excessive, in a country where she has already found them for $7.
