At the emotional climax of the concert, the crossing is literal: it is that of the sea, on a makeshift boat. It was enough for the musicians, Saturday evening at the Friborg Museum of Art and History, to suggest in a few words the so-called “migrant crisis”, which marked the German composer Iris ter Schiphorst, for us to have the sensation of drowning , suffocation. Be of good cheer is a grueling work. Under the solemn statues of the Lapidary Hall, the Kuss Quartett plays a tense, tragic ostinato, while the different recorders played by Maurice Steger make desperate cries.
