New year often means change. Why not review interior design ? In any case, the news is moving in this direction since Paris Design Week is in full swing in the capital.
Whether you are more of a fan of radical transformations or discreet interventions, here is a small trend book inspired to make sure you don’t make a mistake! From the eternal return of Memphis to the improbable come-back of medieval aesthetics, we spotted five trends who are just waiting to invite themselves into your home.
The “castle-core”: the time of cathedrals has returned
As at the end of every year, Pinterest revealed last December the trends that will mark 2025. Among them, in addition to “Cherry mania” and “Miximalist”, is the « Château-core »a neo-medieval aesthetic which mixes neo-Gothic and baroque inspirations with a twist Arts and Crafts which would hardly have displeased William Morris. For several months, it has been brewing just as well fashion that the pop culturewithout forgetting, of course, the decor.
To avoid a bad remake of Game of Thrones in our interiors, we will however favor le style « Middle Ages Modern »which mixes medieval and contemporary inspired objects by focusing in particular on material effects (oak or walnut wood, velvet, chrome, etc.), a strong piece (padded sofa, tapestry, etc.) or more discreet decorative objects (wall lights, antique candlesticks, etc.). Castle life is yours!
The come-back de Memphis
Radical change of era and atmosphere! Barely two years ago, we came close to an overdose of “Ultrafragola” mirroran iconic piece by Ettore Sottsass which has invaded the interiors of the planet’s influencers (and therefore our social networks). In 2025, we must believe that Memphis still hasn’t said his last word! Born in Milan in the 1980s, this cult movement advocates a accessible and fun design which gives pride of place to flat areas of bright colors, geometric shapes and kitsch patterns. Floor lamps, carpets, wallpaper: this season, it is still available on all media. Ready for a supercharged year?
All melted with “Mocha Mousse”
Each year has its own color: it’s Pantone who says it! After a 2024 vintage placed under the sign of “Peach Fuzz” (or “peach fuzz”), place in 2025 at “ Mocha Mousse »” a warm, rich brown hue which fuels our desire for comfort by subtly evoking cocoa, chocolate and coffee,” says Pantone. It is therefore not surprising that this warm shade has taken over our interiors this year, in version all-over on the walls or by small touches (textiles, objects of all kinds, etc.). Note that “Mocha Mousse” should also compete for the spotlight with green – sage or English – and cherry red…
Art Deco: 100 years old and still in style
Dedicated in 1925 during the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, the Art Deco movement party this year his 100 years ; and he hasn’t aged a bit! While the Museum of Decorative Arts prepares to celebrate the event through a special program, its pure and sophisticated lines are also making their way into the home. Geometric patterns which are available as desired on wallpaper or textiles (curtains, cushion covers), graphic suspensions in brass, noble materials (mahogany wood, marble)… The craze for the trend Neo Art Decoalready present for several seasons, is not about to run out of steam in 2025.
Metal: a brilliant idea!
We love it for its glowson timeless elegance with charm vintage which gives our interiors a touch of the 1970s, or even 1990s, and its modernity foolproof. Good news: from chairs to shelves, including lamps and candlesticks; in 2025, metal and steel are everywhere! Bauhaus fan? Opt for the unbeatable seats of Marcel Breuer, comfortable fauteuil « Wassily » to the elegant “Cesca” in canework. If the cold appearance of this material puts you off, think about the iconic modular shelves by USM Haller, whose vibrant colors are sure to warm up your interior. Our favorite this season: the ultra graphic “Triangolo” nesting tables, from The Socialite Family. Enough to ensure morale of steel for the year!
