The Label Suisse festival drew up a “more than positive assessment” on Sunday evening for its return to the centre of Lausanne. Nemo attracted more than 5,000 people on the last day of the event, which hosted nearly 70 concerts between Friday and Sunday.

These concerts, which attracted some 60,000 festival-goers, were “in all genres and for all audiences, in perfect harmony with the DNA of Label Suisse”, rejoices Laurent Maire, president of the Association of the same name, quoted in a press release.

“Nemo’s triumph echoes both the good health of Swiss music and the success of this 11th edition, fresh and sunny,” he adds.

Many highlights

The headliners kept their promise, like The Young Gods, unbeatable pioneers in sound experimentation, who played new, unreleased tracks and epic classics to open the festival.

The tribute to the masterpieces of cinema by jazz trumpeter Erik Truffaz, the explosive meeting of the Harmonie Lausannoise and Traktorkestar for a remarkable creation, the baroque harmony of Leila Schayegh & la Centifolia, the ethereal folk of Soft Loft, the contemporary classical of Ensemble Nikel & Jennifer Walshe, the visionary and magical jazz of Marie Krüttli, the explorations between traditional Swiss popular music and more distant sound worlds of the Kristina Brunner Ensemble are among the many highlights.

Label Suisse was to continue until the end of the night, with notably the flamboyant jazz improvisations of the trio Vallon-Michel-Rossy and the post punk of Coilguns.
