The local council of the FCPE of Sélestat and the Pieces Attaches company offer representation of the Imaginary patient de Molière, Friday January 17, at the Sainte-Barbe complex in Sélestat.

Created in 1673, The Imaginary Sick is the last play written and performed by Molière. This comedy is also a violent criticism of 17th century medicine.e century. A professional in the performing arts, Jean-Pierre Ragasse offers a classic staging of the work. “There are 13 actors, all amateurs, who will play it,” he says.

Based in the region, the association Les Cadeaux, to which the Compagnie des Cadeaux is attached, has existed since 2012. “We also produce other artists elsewhere in ,” says the director. For Alsatian actors, The Imaginary Sick is the first “big” piece.

“We’ve been playing it for two years,” says Jean-Pierre Ragasse. But before the first performance, there were months and months of rehearsal. “As the actors are amateurs, I only throw them on stage when they are really ready,” emphasizes the director.

For the Selestadian performance, the actors of the Pieces Attaches will take the stage with costumes loaned by the National Theater of Strasbourg. If there is a performance for all audiences at 8 p.m., the FCPE and the Attachments wish to offer a session for schools, the same day at 2 p.m.
