Aline Gonzalez exhibits fascinating portraits mixing art and history at the town hall.

An unmissable event for art and history lovers at the Dauriac room at Castanet town hall, until January 31.

Aline Gonzalez is recognized for her unique technique. In 2021, she was honored with the prestigious title of Painter of Air and Space by the Ministry of the Armed Forces, recognizing her exceptional work in the world of aeronautics and space. Last year, the public had already been won over by his talent, awarding him the Favorite Prize during the competition for new Castanean artists.

This new exhibition highlights a series of fascinating portraits, where each work invites a double reading. From a distance, these are striking faces, but as you get closer, the details reveal a hidden world. Indeed, the artist uses ink pads to create unique works full of history. Each stamp tells a fragment of life, a memory, a symbol.

In the portrait of Simone Veil, we discover details that pay tribute to her extraordinary life: her deportee number, the Legion of Honor, or even intertwined hands. Each painting by Aline Gonzalez is an open door to the past, an ode to the pioneers of history and a duty to remember. With figures like Saint-Exupéry, Jean Mermoz, Maryse Bastié and Henri Guillaumet, she revives the history of aviation and its heroes who have fallen into oblivion.

“I do a lot of research before a painting” confides the artist. It is this meticulous work that gives his works a rare depth. Each stamp used carries its own story, linked to the character represented, thus creating a resonance between the past and the present.

Aline Gonzalez’s exhibition is not only a moment of artistic escape, it is also a real journey through history. His innovative approach to art fascinates painting enthusiasts as well as curious people in search of emotion. Faces that challenge, stories that touch, unique techniques that you absolutely must discover.
