“The only original elements that we have been able to preserve are the old parquet floors, fireplaces and cornices, in places where this was possible”explains Carl Gerges. His role quickly became that of a historian and curator, working to restore the apartment to its former splendor. To do this, the architect called on several French workshops specializing in the restoration of plaster and ornate woodwork. “The design phase was quick, and our long-standing friendship helped immensely”he confides. “I know Nour’s tastes, the way George thinks, and what really matters to them. » In just four weeks, the trio set about selecting furniture and finalizing the finishes.

“Private projects are always an intimate conversation with their owners; the idea of remaining as faithful as possible to the vision of a woman, strong, business leader, friend, whom I admire, very international, Parisian at heart but living abroad, inspired me a lot. » While it is true that we do not necessarily find the Aline Asmar d’Amman writing at first glance in this interior of the VIIe district treated like a large hotel master suite, we quickly understand that her delicacy and sensitivity are at the origin of this pied-à-terre enveloping in softness, unctuous, but emitting a solar energy of which she knows how much she is necessary to recharge during a demanding professional life.

Here, it’s a black and white panda marble whose orange chamotte side sets the tone for a color accent… and why not? Color then enters the apartment never to leave it. No surface is white, everything is painted orange and vibrant beige in this place where the entrance opens onto the dining room, the large living room extends into the mirrors and, everywhere, we see the comings and goings of the each other. The dining room serves as a majestic entrance thanks to a large contemporary lacquered table, between sun shade and orange bronze, lit by collar pendants by Sam Stewart.
