“Traversées”, a retrospective exhibition by Monia Touiss, from January 16 to February 6

The Eden Gallery in Casablanca will host the exhibition “Traversées” by Monia Touiss, from January 16 to February 6. This retrospective retraces three decades of artistic creation, highlighting the significant stages of his journey.

Monia Touiss distinguished herself with a unique artistic approach, mixing abstraction and figuration, with a notable use of materials and colors. According to the gallery’s press release, the “Traversées” exhibition offers a reflection on time, memory and the varied influences that mark the artist’s work.

Born in 1971 in Tetouan, Monia Touiss obtained the Mariano Bertuchi Prize in 1992 and a diploma from the National School of Fine Arts. In 2000 she received a doctorate from the University of Barcelona. Touss today divides his time between Morocco and Spain.

Eight personal exhibitions were dedicated to him in the Catalan capital between 2000 and 2016, mainly at the Sofia Gallery, while others were dedicated to him in Stuttgart (2000), in Cordoba (2004), at the Cité internationale des arts in in 2002, in Bogotta (2011), at the French Institute of Marrakech (2015) and in Manama, Bahrain, in the Albareh Art Gallery in 2016.
