Every year, for the past 12 years, the New Year’s concert has traditionally taken place on the second Sunday in January, at the Jéliote hall. The Rotary Club of Oloron is the initiator and organizer of this event as part of its activities. See you on Sunday, January 12, at 5:30 p.m.
Each year, the beneficiaries are local charities. For this 2025 edition, three structures will benefit from the funds which will be collected on Sunday evening, namely the Association for Organ and Tissue Donations (ADOT 64), France Rein but also the victims of Mayotte. There have been Rotary clubs on the archipelago for several years. The link will be made with Oloron so that the money sent is used wisely. In recent years, proceeds from the concert have been donated to various associations such as the Food Bank, the Restos du coeur, the Secours catholique et populaire, the Red Cross, the Pommé Foundation and the Couturières du coeur in Ogeu.
Two groups on stage
Since the beginning, the main actor of this concert has been the municipal harmony of Oloron and its 50 musicians, supplemented by the presence of a different choir each year which provides the first part of the show. On Sunday, we will find the Mandolinata of Tarbes, a mixed group made up of men and women, musicians and singers, which brings together a plectrum orchestra (mandolin, mandola, guitar) and a four-part choral ensemble with a varied repertoire. This group, which celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2023, will offer various songs such as “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, “La Chanson de Prévert” by Gainsbourg, or a song in Béarnais, “Amor d’Aussau”, signed Marcel Abadie on music by Bernard Boué.
Price: 20 euros for adults, 10 euros for under 18s. Reservations with Leclerc culture in Oloron.
