His addictions have often made him sink. But at 72, Renaud intends to get rid of them for himself, to pursue his career, but also for his loved ones, but especially for Cerise. With Christine Marot, her real name, the singer lives “a new happiness, the last, the ultimate”, he confides to our colleagues at Paris Normandy, this Saturday, September 14. A love that makes him want to move forward. “He’s pulling himself together, confides the one he took as his wife on May 4th in Paris. He sees competent people, he wants to be an actor in his rehabilitation.”

Renaud has never made a secret of his health problems. More than once, the singer of the songs Mistral Gagnant, Laisse Béton and Morgane de toi has spoken about his addictions – particularly his addiction to “the cigarette” due “to stress, life, loss of childhood, anxiety about growing old”, but also “not seeing growing up [ses] children”he explained to Paris Matchin May 2022. “I’ve had several therapies to understand where my melancholy comes from. I’m in psychotherapy at the moment, the shrink is very nice, but she hasn’t managed to find it yet. Neither have my friends. But it’ll be okay.”continued the artist.

“It is love that guides me”

The previous year, Renaud confided to the Parisian do everything to preserve your health: “I’ve cut out cigarettes, I’ve gone from sixty a day to fifteen. I’m addicted to vaping. And I’ve definitely stopped drinking alcohol for six months. I’m a new man. I just have a problem with the muscles in my back, which forces me to sit down regularly.” This time, the father of Lolita (43 years old) and Malone (17 years old) can count on the support of his new partner with whom he will celebrate his 50 years of career.

Currently on tour until December 19th with the show In my stringsRenaud intends to celebrate this anniversary as it should be.”There will be a beautiful book, with unpublished photos and words, and a documentary. There will also be a new album next year, I hope. I have started writing songs.”he announced to the Parisian. Again he says: “It is love that guides me.”
