Three weeks after the tragic deaths of her mother and older sister, Mariah Carey has returned to work. The singer is currently in China for a concert and has taken the opportunity to go sightseeing with her children.
Surrounded by her loved ones, Mariah Carey has found her smile again. On Saturday, September 14, the singer posted a carousel of photos on Instagram of her and her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, 13, on the Great Wall of China. The pretty 55-year-old mother appears smiling, in a long, tight black mesh dress, with a butterfly necklace. “It’s really great!” she comments, with two emojis of the same animal. On X (formerly Twitter), she nevertheless confesses to having regretted having worn heels for this walk.
Earlier this week, Mariah Carey returned to Instagram after “a difficult few weeks.” On August 26, the American superstar told People magazine that she had lost her mother and sister on the same day, the weekend of August 24-25, “in a tragic turn of events.” “I feel blessed to have been able to spend the last week with my mother before she passed away,” she said.

Concerts in China and Brazil
In her September 9 post, Mariah Carey says she is “back to work” and writes, “I am so appreciative of everyone’s love and support and I can’t wait to see my fans in China and Brazil.” The singer has four concert dates scheduled: September 15 and 16 in Beijing, and September 20 and 22 in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The public is no doubt hoping that the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer will be joined by her daughter Monroe, born from her previous marriage to Nick Cannon, as she did in Toronto in December 2022.
