American director, producer, screenwriter and writer Michael Moore said that “the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip is being covered up by powerful propaganda.”

In a post shared on X, the famous Oscar-winning director drew attention to the situation in Gaza.

He recalled that the film “From Ground Zero” traces the events and human stories of the region since the beginning of the Israeli attacks on Gaza.

This film, released in the United States and signed by Palestinian directors such as Aws Al-Banna, Ahmed Al-Danf, Basil Al-Maqousi, Mustafa Al-Nabih, consists of 22 short films in the documentary, action, drama genres and animation.

In his message on X, Michael Moore returned to the events in Gaza:

“No filmmaker, writer or artist should have to tell the story of their own destruction. 22 courageous Palestinian filmmakers found a way to film their stories last year in Gaza, using the tools they could scavenge from the rubble of their homes and cities The extraordinary film ‘From Ground Zero’, of which I am proud to be the executive producer, is a collection of short films that tell this story in less than two hours. movie exists is a human and cinematic miracle Watch ‘From Ground Zero,’” he shared.

Moore, who also wrote a detailed article on this topic on his personal website michaelmoore.com, continued:

“These are stories that aren’t being told anywhere. You won’t see them on the evening news. Military leaders are denying access to journalists and filmmakers so they can’t tell us the truth. Even though it is you and I who are paying the price for this war, even though we are the ones supplying all these terrible weapons, we are not allowed to witness what Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have called genocide and ethnic cleansing – war crimes committed in our name every day.

Instead, we are the victims of a powerful propaganda campaign aimed at dehumanizing 5 million people across the occupied Palestinian territories, imprisoned behind walls and barbed wire, condemned to die of starvation. Almost all of Gaza’s hospitals and schools have been destroyed, half of the country’s houses have been reduced to ruins.

Moore, who also shared where the film will be shown in the United States, said: “Don’t walk away from this movie and say ‘Oh, it’s Gaza’ or ‘I can’t stand it.’ but go see this movie for the same reason you go see all the important films, from “Sweet Trouble” (Erin Brockovich) to “The Fate of the World” (China Syndrome) to “12 Years a Slave” to “ Oppenheimer”. one of cinema’s masterpieces and I promise you won’t be disappointed.”

The famous director also highlighted that the film is one of the 15 films nominated for the 97th Academy Awards in the “International Feature Film” category.
