The unassuming house that served as the setting for the series Breaking Bad in Albuquerque is up for sale for a cool $4 million.

The price of fame. Joanne Quintana's modest home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, estimated at $340,000, is on sale for $4 million. For what? Because it served as the setting for the series Breaking Bad. This 4-bedroom ranch-style house with swimming pool is in fact the one occupied in the series by Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) family.

This physics-chemistry professor begins manufacturing methamphetamine with a former student, Jessie Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to protect his family from want after learning that he was suffering from incurable cancer. But over the course of five seasons, the kind and honest professor transforms into a dangerous drug lord, the terrible Heisenberg.

The success of five seasons of this cult series has given this house an unexpected value. “It’s not just a house, but an iconic pop culture location where the legendary pizza throwing scene took place and where Walter White’s spectacular transformation took place,” the Exp company says on Instagram Luxury in charge of the transaction.

In a scene from the third season, Walter White, exasperated that his ex-wife Skyler (Anna Gunn) does not want to chat with him over a huge pizza he brought, throws her onto the roof of the garage.

“Since his debut in the series Breaking Bad, the house has attracted tourists from all over the world, making it an exceptional investment as a potential Airbnb or fan experience site,” further highlights real estate agency Exp Luxury.

It was in 2006 that a member of the film crew, who was prospecting in the neighborhood, set his sights on the house, reports the American press agency AP. He then asked Joanne Quintana's mother, who was then occupying the premises, to film the pilot there.

The filming of the series, broadcast between 2008 and 2013, in any case benefited the entire region, boosting fans' interest in the region and tourism.

In 2015, Jessie Pinkman's house was listed for sale for $1.6 million.
