If the numerous concerts given by local choirs, the numerous summer exhibitions or the gastronomic and craft fairs on summer Thursdays always attract a large audience to Garazi, if the sporting results in the different disciplines carry high the colors of Saint- Jean-Pied-de-Port, new events will come to life in the Saint Jeannais city in 2024.
The medieval parade in the streets of Saint Jean last August wowed the public.

This was the case with the first medieval festival organized on August 3 and 4, appreciated by locals and tourists, through the reproduction of scenes of daily life in the Middle Ages, the discovery of costumes and objects from this era, through a colorful parade animated by knights, troubadours, artisans and fire throwers in the streets of Saint-Jean as well as the medieval market and its activities. The medieval festival should be renewed in 2025.
Also a great initiative from the potters who organized their second potters’ market on May 4 and 5 at the covered market with the presence of around thirty exhibitors and a lot of visitors.
Attractiveness
Other events have now been included in the Saint Jeannais calendar, we are thinking in particular of the Garazi en rose, the 2024 edition of which was once again crowned with success with the participation of 1,100 women of all generations. We are also thinking of the Citadelle en stages theater festival which will celebrate its 10th edition in 2025. More than 700 people participated in one of the three plays offered from August 21 to 23.
-The animation of Saint-Jean also involves its Telethon which in 2024 was spread over time and which was a great success. Faced with the growing reputation of Saint-Jean, the town under the leadership of its active mayor Laurent Inchauspé is redoubling its efforts to offer new facilities and offer a pleasant living environment to residents and vacationers. This is the case of the approach to pacification of public space undertaken by the municipality with in particular the green development of Place Charles-de-Gaulle which is taking shape.
