The Floor, conquering the groundthe event game presented by Cyril Féraud, is making its comeback on France 2 this Saturday, December 28, 2024 in prime time. After having met with great success at the start of the year, the show is being installed for an extended duration of 5 bonuses, compared to 4 during the previous season.
The principle of The Floor remains generally unchanged: 100 candidates compete on a huge floor made up of 100 boxes, each representing a category such as cinema, sport, geography or even politics. When selected, a candidate can challenge the owner of a neighboring square on their own theme. The loser is eliminated while the winner conquers their opponent’s territory. The ultimate goal is to take over the entire floor to win the jackpot of 100,000 euros.
The Floor : a well-established concept, but big new features this year
Created by the Dutchman John de Mol, the show The Floor quickly attracted many countries who bought the adaptation rights, including France. But this new edition of The Floor on French television will, however, bring its share of surprises. New categories will appear, notably musical duels or others based on images generated by artificial intelligence. Face-to-face meetings promise to be varied and destabilizing, encouraging candidates to take more risks.
Another new feature to note: at the end of each show, the two best participants will face off in a final non-eliminatory duel on a dedicated theme. The stakes will be high since the winner of this confrontation will pocket the tidy sum of 5,000 euros. Enough to spice up the competition a little more.
Patience, knowledge, strategy, composure… So many qualities which will be essential to hope to triumph and succeed Angélique, big winner of the first season of The Floor. Cyril Féraud, visibly enthusiastic at the idea of meeting viewers, has already announced “a lot more risk-taking” on the part of the candidates.
