The Commission to Support the Production of Cinematographic Works has revealed the film projects benefiting from support for its third session of 2024.
In a press release from the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), it was specified that the commission, meeting for its third session of the current year from December 9 to 17, examined the films candidates for support before and after production.
These are five feature films after production, three short films after production, fifty feature film projects before production, four short film projects before production, five documentary film projects before production and ten candidate script projects for support to screenwriting.
Concerning the documentary film on Saharawi Hassani history, culture and space, the commission studied a documentary after production and twenty documentary projects before production.
Regarding fiction films, the commission decided to grant advances on receipts (after production) in the amount of 600,000 dirhams to the feature film BRO, directed by Mansour Mlali and presented by the company MARRAKECH TACTICS.
The same sum of 600,000 dirhams was allocated to the feature film Concrete Taxi 2directed by Moncef Malzi and presented by the company RAZANE NOUR FILMS. A grant of 500,000 dirhams was also awarded to the feature film “ Knbghik… Talqni » (I love you…Divorce me), directed by Driss Roukhe and presented by the company CAMELIA PROD.
In addition, the commission granted an amount of 100,000 dirhams to each of the two short fiction films “ Ashmara » et « Ombre“, directed by Driss Maâna and presented by CINEMARS FILMS, as well as the film “ Clawny’s Mama“, directed by Manal Ghoa and presented by the company Yandiss Productions.
Concerning advances on receipts before production, the commission decided to grant 3.2 million dirhams to the feature film project The Sons of the Wolfwritten and directed by Ismaïl Moulay Iraqi and presented by KASBAH FILMS. An identical sum of 3.2 million dirhams was granted to the Calle Malaga project, written and directed by Maryam Touzani and presented by ALI'N PRODUCTIONS.
The commission also allocated 2.5 million dirhams to the project Battydirected and scripted by Mohamed Raouf Sabahi and presented by YAZ'IMAGE, as well as 2.16 million dirhams for the project “ Boutidinet“, written and directed by El Ghali Akremich and presented by G.FILMS.
An amount of 150,000 dirhams was granted to the short film project Once upon a time 1986directed and scripted by Mohamed Ali Benkiran and presented by IFILMS PRODUCTIONS. The same amount was allocated to the Cupidon project, directed and scripted by Marouane Khayari and presented by LABORATOIRES CINÉMATOGRAPHIQUES ET TECHNOLOGIQUES.
For support for screenwriting, the commission allocated 100,000 dirhams to the feature film project “ Scheherazade's birds“, scripted by Sofia Khayari and presented by ONEIRIS ANIMATION. A sum of 60,000 dirhams was granted to the scenario project Resonances, written by Chadi Kalaï and presented by MOUTON ROUGE FILMS. In addition, 60,000 dirhams were granted to the documentary script project Shams Al Akharin (The Sun of Others)scripted by Asmae El Mudir and presented by INSIGHT FILMS, as well as the documentary script Dawa'er (Circles), by Faiçal Benaghrou, presented by FB PRODUCTION.
The press release also indicates that the commission decided to grant an amount of 100,000 dirhams for the rewriting of the script of the documentary Rihlat Al Majd (The Journey of Glory)written by Mohamed Saad, directed by Lahcen Farah and presented by BOOSTART PRODUCTION. A grant of 80,000 dirhams was granted to the Aïcha Chenna feature film project, Mother of Motherswritten by Redouane Tijani, directed by Houari Goubari and presented by KAMA 4 PROD.
An amount of 80,000 dirhams was also granted to the feature film project Salef Al Batoul, written by Malika Maalainine, directed by Rachid El Hazmir and presented by AJAAD VISION.
For documentaries on Sahrawi Hassani culture and history, the commission decided to grant an advance on receipts after production of 400,000 dirhams to the film Al Mougardirected by Noureddine Aghrass and presented by FOUYA PRODUCTION. An advance on revenue before production of 500,000 dirhams was allocated to the project Atfal Attibgh (The children of tobacco)scripted by Rachid El Moudden, directed by Zineb El Achhab and presented by MONAFRIQUE PRODCOM.
Finally, regarding the rewriting of scripts, the commission granted 50,000 dirhams to the documentary project Rkiss Al Bidanescripted by Hassan El Yousfi, directed by Aymane Benslimane and presented by NAHO MULTI SERVICES, as well as the project Chour Lemnabhawritten by Hassan Habibi, directed by Faten Khelkhal and presented by AYA MEDIA.
