“Creative hobbies work really well,” says the shopkeeper. At the head of the gondola, cartoon notebooks, from €15. These booklets, accessible to children over three years old, are presented like coloring books. Two subtleties: “We fill the drawings with paint, cotton, modeling clay… Whatever we want,” explains Valérie Nau. Via an application, the work comes to life and unfolds a story on the smartphone. Another success from its catalog, a magnetic construction game. The bonus: the modules “can be combined with Lego or Playmobil”, specifies the saleswoman. Enough to expand your imaginary universe.

Interactive puzzles and books

Consumers love “learning games, puzzles”, also testifies Léa Marszan, manager of the general store Cosmo Kids. Board games are also popular. Gifts should allow you to share a moment with your little ones. Jean, in his forties, selected a game of “look for the intruder” type cards and a miniature car for his three-year-old nephew. A subtle balance. “He also likes to play by himself,” anticipates the uncle.

Head for children’s literature at the Lilosimages bookstore. Manon Picot, one of the partners, reveals a favorite: “Pommon ours love me sweet” (Hélium éditions, €17.99). In this illustrated album, raccoons stole the lightning rod from Pompon Bear’s quirky cabin. “It’s a ‘seek and find’, with golden objects and a pop-up tree at the end,” enthuses the bookseller. A sort of “Where’s Waldo” from 4 years old. Another idea: “The Wizard of Oz”, reviewed by Hélène Canac (“Tout jaune”, “Cassandra”). Little extra: the author will be signing this Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The three stores are open non-stop until December 24.
