Its reopening was expected this year, but the date was not known. Pathé finally announced Monday evening, via a post on Facebookthe reopening of La Géode, in the Parc de la Villette, in Paris. The first session is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The structure, inaugurated in 1985, had closed in December 2018, for a series of works and renovation.
The famous sphere, taken over by Pathé, will now offer documentaries in the afternoon, but also films in the evening. For this first day, La Géode will therefore offer the release of the film Mufasa: The Lion King. With a capacity of just over 300 spectators, it is now equipped “the first IMAX Laser 4K projector in dome format installed in France”indicates Pathé, which will make it possible to offer images “sharper, deeper contrasts, and the widest color gamut available. IMAX 6.0 Precision Sound rounds it all out, ensuring sound delivery with impressive clarity and depth.”
Count from 13 euros for adults, and 10 euros for those under 26, for documentaries. Prices will be higher for films, with tickets at 25 euros for adults, and 15 euros for those under 26. The time of reopening, Pathé offers an offer one place purchased = one place offered.
