“The Hopeful”, the film produced by Hope Channel International, is a resounding success. Prestigious nominations, box office success and worldwide distribution bear witness to the cinematic quality and evangelical impact of this production.
Nominations that crown excellence
“The Hopeful” was nominated for three ICVM Crown Awards: Best Gospel Film, Best Original Score and Best Editing. These awards, benchmarks in the field of Christian media, will be awarded in February during the NRB Christian Media Convention. The film was also nominated for Best Direction at the Australian Directors Guild Awards, alongside major productions like “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”. “In a postmodern, secular society often resistant to direct preaching, narrative excellence and public recognition open doors for deeper conversations,” says Kevin Christenson, head of Hope Studios and executive producer of the film. “By achieving quality standards that resonate with the audience we seek to reach, we earn the right to be heard. »
A global impact for the message of hope
Since its release in April 2024, “The Hopeful” has reached a large international audience. The film was shown in 900 theaters in the United States, ranking in the top 10 at the box office for two days. This worldwide distribution, rare for a Christian film, is the result of a collaboration between Hope Channel International and the world divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In the South Pacific Division, the film was the focus of an evangelistic campaign, rising to second place among new releases in New Zealand and fifth in Australia. Screenings were extended by seven weeks to meet high demand. About 60 percent of tickets were purchased by people outside the Adventist Church, highlighting the film’s ability to reach a wide audience.
Hope Channel: a channel that reinvents itself
“These nominations and the international success of the film show how God works through media and how Hope Channel has grown into a comprehensive media ministry,” says Vyacheslav Demyan, president of Hope Channel International. “Hope Channel is so much more than television. The majority of our 84 channels are digital, and we are now entering the realm of cinema and film evangelism. »

Hope Channel encourages churches and communities to host screenings of “The Hopeful” during the holiday season. The film is accompanied by additional resources: the book “Hope is on the Way”, the book “Steps to Christ: The Hopeful Edition”, the soundtrack of the film and an interactive Bible study guide on Hope.Study.
