A range of personalities from the world of culture and media took part in this ceremony which, full of emotions, was marked by several testimonies highlighting the human qualities, values and legacy of late Nour-Eddine Saïl.
This ceremony was also punctuated by the screening of the short film “Black Screen”incisive work on the Moroccan cinema seen by professionals in the sector, as well as extracts from the most significant interventions of the late deceased.
Cet posthumous tribute was also an opportunity for the audience to follow a video testimony from the great French sociologist and philosopher Edgar Morinin addition to the announcement of the reprint of the late novel “The shadow of the chronicler” and its translation into Arabic.
In a statement to MAP, Nadia Larguetwidow of Mr. Saïl, stressed that the cultural and human heritage of the deceased is enormous, adding that he left a huge mark on generations. “His name will forever be engraved, because he was a man of great humility, great integrity and great simplicity,” she said.
She also expressed her great joy and pride at the reprint of the roman “The Shadow of the Chronicler” by the late Nour-Eddine Saïl and its translation into Arabic, expressing his sincere thanks to the entire team who contributed to the translation of this work.
“Nour-Eddine Saïl loved to show the younger generation what it was to have talent. He was a man who enriched his country and made the African continent shine beautifully,” she continued.
This ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzourfrom the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Barakafrom the High Commissioner for Planning, Chakib Benmoussaand the president of the Council of the Moroccan community abroad, Driss El Yazami.
Screenwriter, novelist, producer et critique cinemaNour-Eddine Saïl is a native of Tanger. Teacher and general inspector of philosophy until 1984, he was the founder in 1973 of the National Federation of Cinema Clubs of Moroccoof which he was president until 1983.
He was critical of movie theater to the radio and to the televisionprogram director of the Moroccan television (1984-1986), audiovisual advisor to the President of the ONA group (1989-1990), director of programs Canal+Horizons (1990-2000), general director of 2M (2000-2003), director of Moroccan Cinematographic Center (2003-2014) as well as deputy vice-president of the Marrakesh International Film Festival (2004-2014).
