The sports and cultural association (ASC) of Saint-Jean-de-Verges organized a concert last Saturday in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church. This 12th century Romanesque church, listed as a historic monument in 1907, is a historic landmark.
Under the direction of Audrey Dufresse, the Pluri’Elles choir from the conservatory of the Pays Foix-Varilhes urban community offered spectators an exceptional musical journey, carried by a repertoire combining charm, energy and virtuosity. This choir, active for two years, brings together around twenty passionate choristers, whose objective is to brilliantly reproduce the work accomplished during rehearsals.
Dressed in sober concert attire, embellished with a touch of feminine elegance, the choristers were able to respond accurately and subtly to the instructions of Audrey Dufresse, who masterfully directs the four music stands. The choristers, attentive to the looks and reassuring gestures of their choir director, transmitted this harmony in their interpretation. Elegance was also found in the chords and harmony of the masterfully performed works.
The concert ended with a series of Christmas carols in which the audience joyfully took part. The latter, delighted to have braved the gloomy weather, applauded for a long time to express his pleasure.
At the end of the concert, the organizer, Ms. Nicole Souleils, warmly thanked the spectators, the choristers and the choir director, who was offered a magnificent bouquet of flowers. This Christmas concert, placed under the sign of conviviality, ended with the traditional drink of friendship.
