ANIMATION. Wednesday, December 11 afternoon, the brass band of the Gipsy Pigs/Le Pigswana Orchestra company transported the city center into the wonderful world of Christmas with its musical show “Gipsy Rennes de Noël”.
Young and old were able to attend three performances of the show. The premiere began at 2 p.m., Place Aristide-Briand, then the orchestra went up Rue Gambetta before playing on Place des Petites-Halles in front of the Carrousel.
For its Christmas orchestra, the fanfare from Normandy was made up of seven musicians with its leader the drummer nicknamed Chevache.
The Gipsy Pigs revisited the standards of the greatest Christmas classics including “Mon beau Sapin”, “Vive le vent”, “Douce nuit”, “Merry Christmas”, “Blanc Noël” and other traditional music. Their festive and folkloric concert ended in style with “Petit Papa Noël” taken up in chorus by the public gathered on the square.
This musical street show warmed up the atmosphere and took children and parents into the magic of Christmas. The afternoon continued happily with Santa’s walk.
