Camille Lellouche continues to show her multiple facets. Starring in the film “L'Heureuse Electe”, released last September, the surprise coach of “The Voice” reconnected with her love for music by offering a second album, soberly titled “II”. She also explained at the “C à vous” table the simplicity of this name in Roman numerals. “I don't like titles. I like that we have a visual and that we don't take the lead. That it isn't a sales argument”, justified the artist, much more inspired to compose the pieces contained in this opus.
A difficult album to write and built in the middle of drama
And yet, for a year and a half, the mother of a little girl was struck by blank page syndrome. “I told myself that it was no longer my job and then I met lots of people, lots of incredible musicians and composers. It rekindled this little flame in me”, she confided to Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine and her team. Camille Lellouche also crossed paths with a man who was very important in the conception of this album. “There was a composer friend, Nino Vella, who wrote some of my pieces, who died in July and who brought this new artistic flame. It really was a friendly crush, and he actually left me. It's as if he abandoned me a little, it's a little selfish, at an important moment”she said, with a tremor in her voice.
“He was exceptional”
This strong emotion forced him to pause for a few seconds, time to find the strength to continue his tribute. “He is a very great composer, singer, topliner and musician. He has accompanied a lot of artists, so people who see me talking about him will recognize themselves. He was exceptional, his music still lives and I am very happy about it.” highlighted the one who even dedicated one of the fourteen songs on her record to her.
