Captivating blonde hair, a slender figure. At the age of 22, Lilou Émeline-Artuso, Miss Côte d’Azur, does not go unnoticed. The beautiful Antiboise, master’s student in digital strategy, will be present this Saturday evening on the Futuroscope stage in Poitiers for the election of Miss France 2025.
Sporty, reserved but determined, the Riviera intends to shine and be crowned. Encounter.
Why did you embark on this adventure?
I am quite introverted by nature, even reserved. So it’s like for Mégane (Miss Provence) a challenge for me. My family often told me to introduce myself. So this year, I didn’t ask myself any questions. I went for it, I like trying new things.
Did Lilou as a child see herself one day becoming Miss Côte d’Azur and competing for the title of Miss France?
No way. It’s not ‘a little girl’s dream’ as they say, although I always watched the show with my family. We are all there watching the speeches, making predictions. I have always admired these young women for the courage they have to take on this type of adventure, but it is more a young woman’s desire. Hence the personal transformation, hence the desire to meet new people. The possibility of meeting the French if you become Miss France.
What is your Côte d’Azur?
When we think of the Côte d’Azur, we think of the sun, the sea. But it’s also the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, the Cannes festival… It’s a bit of everything that makes you dream (laughs).
Cindy Fabre says that a Miss France must be a woman who has convictions. What do you think?
The woman of 2025 is a woman who takes responsibility, who wants to learn and who is open-minded. Miss France carries a guarantee of responsibilities. She must be committed and know how to impose her ideas.
Personally, I have always had a sensitivity for the environment. I did a sport study in sailing, I compete in catamarans. So obviously, I am sensitive to the sea, to the protection of the marine environment.
We sometimes hear criticism of this competition. What do you say to the detractors?
Everyone has their own opinion and they must be respected completely. But on December 14, we will discover 30 women who are happy to be there. They offered themselves. We are not forced to introduce ourselves. Miss France allows a young woman to speak in front of 10 million people, live, on TF1. Which is pretty incredible. The competition is not degrading, it is even the opposite. It highlights the woman.
What do you expect from the Miss France experience?
A real personal transformation. The Miss France adventure has been in preparation since the very first election. Miss Mandelieu for me to then be Miss Côte d’Azur.
So it’s everyday work. And even more recently. We’re trying to prepare for the big departure. We also seek to gain maturity. We are certainly accompanied by the committee but we are often alone facing ourselves.
Besides your studies and modeling, what do you do in your free time?
Sports, particularly basketball (his father is a former professional). I am still continuing the catamaran. Modeling is to be independent and pay for my studies. It also allowed me to brave my reserved and shy side because I was much younger.
