Since 2001, the Prix des cinq continents de la Francophonie has honored French-speaking literature in all its diversity and enabled its dissemination throughout the world. Created by the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the prize has a grant of 15,000 euros (a little over $22,000) and also offers the winner the opportunity to meet their readers and its readers in several book fairs or international literary festivals. Among the winners, there are compatriots, such as Éric Chacour in 2024, Monique Proulx in 2022, Gilles Jobidon in 2019 and Jocelyne Saucier in 2011.
It is during the International Day of La Francophonie, on March 20, that the winner will be revealed.
