The French Institute of Morocco presents to its audiences from December 18 to 21 “Musiques en gestes”, a musical and pictorial performance project around Moroccan, Israeli-Palestinian, French and Hungarian composers from the 20th and 21st centuries and the French painter Jacob Reymond.
“The finely crafted program by the Ensemble Alternance, a acclaimed and internationally recognized performer of contemporary repertoires, encourages us to question our cultural identity, to look within ourselves while seeking an open, curious but also distanced and therefore respectful dialogue. of the other and its singularity,” indicate the organizers. This series of three concert-performances will honor Ahmed Essyad, Moroccan composer decorated with the Wissam Al Arch of the Order of Knight by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Jacob Reymond, French painter, will improvise and create several works live at each concert. The Banque Populaire contemporary art gallery, partner of the event, will host a performance in Oujda by the Ensemble Alternance and Jacob Reymond. This performance will be preceded by a conference on the theme: “Contemporary creation and cultural interactions: a dialogue in mutual respect and fertile porosity”.
