The group Voix d’ – Men’s Choir of Giroussens, under the direction of Martin Lacheteau, will give a Christmas concert in the Saint-François de Lavaur church on Sunday, December 15 at 3:30 p.m. This concert is essentially composed of Christmas carols in French, Occitan, Basque and one in Ukrainian. This choir, created 25 years ago, is one of the oldest in Tarn. Initially composed of religious and sacred songs, its musical background today reflects a desire to promote traditional Occitan songs. Over time, the arrival of new choristers has also enriched it with Catalan, Basque, Corsican, Breton compositions… The voices are distributed over 4 music stands for polyphonic a cappella or accompanied singing. The ensemble, united by the pleasure of singing, performs in Occitania but also throughout and abroad during festivals or meetings with other choirs. The richness of their repertoire allows them to host religious events (baptisms, communions, weddings, farewell celebrations, family, business, association or organized by local communities.
