I was surprised, in life we work, but we don’t think about distinctions. And above all, I know that in life, you don’t achieve anything alone. There are so many people who helped me so the medal goes to them as much as it does to me
confided Guylaine Simard in an interview on the show It’s never the same.
In her opinion, it is the quality of the work accomplished over the years, the relationships she has built between France and Quebec and her general involvement in the cultural sector that has allowed her to stand out.
I’m happy, it’s true. I am especially happy with the friendships I have made in France. I’m happy for the Fjord Museum.

She believes that this recognition gives her new impetus in pursuing ongoing projects at the regional museum institution.
“This distinction is an illustration of the recognition of your work, of your actions accomplished within the Musée du Fjord and of your involvement in the Saguenay and Quebec cultural sector. It is also a marker of appreciation for the cultural bridges that you have built on both sides of the Atlantic,” Éric Lamouroux said in a press release.
The ceremony took place at the Fjord Museum. The three municipal councilors of La Baie, Martin Harvey, Jean Tremblay and Raynald Simard, were present as were deputies François Tremblay and Richard Martel.
